Practice Details:
Northern Health is seeking locum physicians to work in the St. John Hospital Emergency Department in Vanderhoof, British Columbia.
ER shifts can be 24 hours (0800-0800), or 12 hours (0800-2000, 2000-0800) with flexibility for 6 - hour blocks during weekdays. You can expect to see 25 patients in a 24-hour shift, 5 of those would be during night shift.
Income Guarantee: $5,400/24 hr. shift (weekday): $3,477/day shift, $1,926/night shift or $5,700/ 24 hr. shift (weekend): $3,780/day shift, $1,926/night shift - includes FFS, RRP, and MOCAP.
Day shifts are assumed full hours on-site, night shifts are assumed 6 hours on-site.
Travel and accommodation covered. Travel stipend: $250-$1,500 based on time. Maximum, $1,500 per round trip.
Site has X-ray, lab, ultrasound during the day, and support with local GP anesthesia and GP surgery. The referral site is in Prince George, 1 hour away.
Visiting specialists to the hospital include general internist, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, geriatrics, psychiatry, pediatrics, and physiatry.

St. John Hospital is a 24 acute-care bed facility. The Hospital serves the communities of Vanderhoof and the Saik’uz First Nation, as well as acting as a referral centre for the surrounding communities of Burns Lake, Fort St. James and Fraser Lake.
