Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. Practice Details:

Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician with full-scope skills/experience to join a well-established Family Medicine/walk-in clinic and also provide Emergency Room coverage in Dawson Creek. The community has several clinics that work cooperatively.

This practice opportunity could also include:

• Maternity
• Primary OB
• Advanced OB with C-section (if qualified)
• Surgical assists
• Anesthesia (if qualified)

Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Services include:

• 24/7 emergency
• HAU
• Medical and surgical in-patient care
• Day surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• General surgery
• Respiratory therapy
• Diabetic education
• Primary care
• Lab
• Medical imaging with CT
• Cancer care

Qualifications:
  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Emergency experience
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Desired Obstetric Experience - Desired (optional)
Call Schedule:

Hours of work: Regular/Negotiable
On call requirements: Emergency (REEF and MOCAP Level 1 for Emergency)

RSA Incentives

$20,000 Signing Bonus + Moving Allowance $9,000 - $15,000.
$35,798.40 Annual Bonus (Flat Fee) + MSP Premium 23.10%.

REEF (Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding) and MOCAP (Medical On Call Availability Program) available on top of MSP billings.
Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available.

Moving allowance available: $15,000 if moving from outside of Canada; $12,000 if moving within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if moving within BC.* (lump sum payment, no receipts required) *Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.
