Join a brand new regional Orthopaedics program in the beautiful Pacific Northwest at the brand new Ksyen Regional Hospital. The new program will have 2-3 Orthopaedic surgeons based in Terrace with single surgeon programs in nearby Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
This position will have the creative space to help build, develop and design an orthopaedic program with diverse skillsets as well as core competencies and in collaboration with colleagues and the NW Lead Surgical Services, plan an orthopaedic program including the maximization of OR time and capacity in Terrace as well as neighboring communities' facilities. Comprehensive centralized trauma services, as well as elective programs including but not limited to same-day discharge arthroplasty, complex shoulder surgery, sports injuries, complex large joint procedures, foot-and-ankle surgery will be intentional foci.
The successful candidate will be expected to practice in a community orthopaedic setting and to participate in the on-call schedule with the flexibility to cover additional shifts.
Specialists currently in Terrace include General Internists, General Surgeons, Obstetrician Gynecologists, Pediatricians, an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Ophthalmologists, a Pathologist, Radiologists, a Plastic Surgeon, and FP-Anesthetists. Emergency Physicians and Family Physicians cover the ED and Inpatients.

Ksyen Regional Hospital:
Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients in November 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, it is a center for trauma services, acute care, surgical services pathology, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services for the Northwest region. The hospital staff prides itself on delivering culturally safe care to our Indigenous populations.
