Practice Details:

Northern Health is seeking a psychiatrist to join the mental health team in Terrace, BC who will work in Mills Memorial Hospital and the Northern Health Mental Health Program. No overhead!

Working in a community mental health team and in close consultation with family physicians, the psychiatrist will be responsible for
• patient assessments and treatment planning
• ongoing patient centered consultation
• education to physicians and interdisciplinary mental health teams to advance effective treatment
• participating in provision of area-based continuum of psychiatric services including assessment of patients in the regional hospital observation unit.

The new recruit will join 3 other Psychiatrists in Terrace who work as part of an Intensive Care Management Team with nursing and allied health professionals. Ksyen Regional Hospital:

Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients in November 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, it is a center for trauma services, acute care, surgical services pathology, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services for the Northwest region. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program and residents through the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.
