Practice Details:

We are seeking someone who is passionate about rural medicine and outdoor adventure. If you're looking to spend less time commuting and more time by the ocean, our Emergency Medicine opportunity might be for you. FTE is flexible from 0.25 FTE to 1.0 FTE. Outside of emergency medicine there are opportunities in primary care, anesthesia, surgical assists, OAT, long term and outreach to indigenous communities.

CCFP-EM designation is not required. We will support those wishing to pursue the Practice Eligibility route to obtain the Certificate of Added Competency, or the Emergency Education Program through RCCBC. Coaching, mentorship, and buddy shifts are available for physicians requiring additional support while they transition into practice.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30 bed facility, including 26 inpatient beds, 2 maternity and 2 high acuity. The Hospital is receiving $80 million in upgrades over the next few years. There are 4 primary care clinics in Prince Rupert.

Emergency Shifts are compensated via a Group Contract and are eligible for additional rural retention incentives. Shift times are as follows:

08:00 – 16:00
16:00 – 00:00
00:00 – 08:00
12:00 – 20:00
