Fort Nelson, located in the northernmost reaches of the Rocky Mountains, has magnificent scenery and landscapes. The main industries are forestry, natural gas, transportation and tourism. The population is approximately 3,370. There are now three elementary schools and one secondary school. Fort Nelson is a charming and friendly community with genuine personality. The importance of the Alaska Highway is immediately evident and the town itself is built around the highway, with the museum, gas stations, shopping, restaurants, accommodations and services spread along its route.

Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician with full scope skills/experience to join a well established family medicine clinic and also provide Emergency Room coverage in Fort Nelson BC, a community of 3,400. Fort Nelson General Hospital is a 22 bed integrated Acute Care and multi-level care facility. CPSBC License can be Provisional or Full.
Housing assistance may be available from the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.
Fort Nelson is located at Historical Mile 300 of the world-famous Alaska Highway, and is the largest community in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. The community has excellent year-round recreational facilities, indoor and outdoor.

Recruitment Incentive: $20,000
Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 - $15,000 (TBD)

Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available. Moving assistance available: $15,000 if moving from outside of Canada; $12,000 if moving within Canada but outside of British Columbia; $9,000 if moving within British Columbia.
Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.
