The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. Northern Health is urgently seeking locum physicians to work in the Dawson Creek & District Hospital Emergency Department in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Income Guarantee: (includes FFS, RRP, and MOCAP):
Morning shift: 0800-1500: $2,264/weekday, $2,479/weekend. Average volume: 20-30 patients.
Evening shift: 1500-2200: $2,387/weekday, $2,479/weekend. Average volume: 20-30 patients.
Night shift: 2200-0800: $3,653 (weekday or weekend). Average volume: 5-15 patients.

Travel and accommodation covered. Travel stipend: $250-$1,500 based on time. Maximum, $1,500 per round trip.

Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full-service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. The Emergency Room sees 22,000+ visits per year and is covered by Family Physicians in the community and one other full-time FP/ER Physician. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Services include 24/7 emergency, ICU, medical and surgical in-patient care, diagnostics and medical imaging with CT scanning, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, day surgery, respiratory therapy, diabetic education, and cancer care.

Dawson Creek is known as "Mile Zero", where the world-famous Alaska Highway begins! The city has a population of approximately 16,000, provides primary service to a population of 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region, approximately 70,000.

Outside of work, you can enjoy the year-round recreational opportunities from the state-of-the-art indoor aquatic centre, indoor walking track, yoga, Pilates, dance studios, biking trails, golfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, bird watching, 25 kilometres of groomed trails for cross-country (Nordic) skiing, Bear Mountain Ski Hill (downhill skiing and snowboarding), back-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
